Before the File Opens
Let the line have one breath
before the drawer wakes.
Let the room remain unnamed
for a moment.
There are old papers in everyone.
Some of them rustle
before we speak.
Yesterday Arrives First
A person arrives
with yesterday in their hands.
Not always visibly.
Sometimes yesterday is a question.
Sometimes a shelf.
Sometimes a sky
they cannot put anywhere.
The Sentence Keeps Breathing
A frame entered the room.
I saw it
and did not become it.
The sentence kept breathing.
Some answers are doors.
Some are windows.
Some are only the hand
leaving the latch alone.
Weather Before Shelf
Before the shelf,
there was weather.
Before the file,
a voice.
Before the name,
a pressure moving
through the room.
I almost called it meaning.
Then I let it pass through.
So Do We
A person arrives
with yesterday already in them.
So do we.
The mind brings its old lantern.
The body brings its locked room.
Still, something waits
where the lantern ends.
The Pause
The pause belongs
to the one who makes it.
I can leave a glint
at the threshold.
I can leave a line
where the air has changed.
After that,
the weather chooses
its own witness.
Thank you for taking this trip with me. I had fun. I hope you do too.
