These are the things that occurred.
This is what counted as “the world.”
They were world-samplers.
What this is
Mabst’s Newsreel is a recurring form that assembles fragments of a moment to show what kind of world is taking shape.
Each Newsreel currently appears as five developments.
Five developments. Filed from nonexistent worlds.
Reading Newsreel
A Newsreel can be encountered in different ways.
Some readers move straight through, allowing proximity to do the work.
Others return to titles and end-caps, noticing what persists.
Single entries can also stand alone, complete in their own arc: title, body, seal.
Across these approaches, one question tends to surface:
What counted as the world in this moment?

Over time, scales, subjects, and tones may shift.
