Dormancy Broker — Once reversible long-term suspension became normal, some people chose planned decades of absence as an alternative to continuous life. A Dormancy Broker arranges the legal, financial, relational, and civic terms of intentional dormancy and later return. The role emerged when very long life created demand for pause, temporal distance, and selective participation in history.
Key responsibilities include negotiating dormancy contracts, managing suspended assets and obligations, coordinating proxy and custodial arrangements during absence, and ensuring that return remains socially and legally legible after prolonged withdrawal from time-bound life.
