This series began in a dream that felt like a working session. There were glossy white fields: single words, objects, and sometimes combinations, each presented like a message waiting to be read.

After waking, what stayed with me was a visual grammar: white surface, sharp contrast, isolated yet related presence, and the feeling that arrangement could change the room.

This first study uses six lowercase words — ease, peace, cease, release, receive, increase — as cards in a shifting sequence. The words remain the same, but their order changes the weather.

Value Theater is a Mabst cycle of satirical prose poems about the products, promises, invoices, and future-facing rituals of modern commerce.

Each piece follows a market as it attempts to sell a substitute for something human: health, growth, climate repair, belonging, love, death, memory, continuity, education, or competence.

The future is always coming.
The payment is always due now.

These pieces are part of the studio’s Process & Drafts archive. They may later be revised, selected, combined, omitted, or rearranged for a future eBook, Studio Edition, or collection.

The online versions offer access to the work while it is still becoming.
The later collection — when one arrives — will offer the selected, revised, and arranged form.

1. The Super Heart Is Currently in Beta

A miracle organ, a pricing page, and the promise of life extension sold before the body has agreed.

2. The Bean of Tomorrow

A small bean arrives with a patent number, a cape, and a valuation model large enough to swallow gravity.

3. The Planet of Tomorrow

A carbon certificate, future trees, and the market’s preferred version of repentance.

4. Mutuality, Pending

A relationship roadmap, simulated remembering, and the slow improvement of being almost loved.

5. Belonging, Pending Payment

Citizenship becomes a premium pathway. Statelessness becomes a tier. Belonging waits for liquidity.

6. Eternity, Pending Renewal

The afterlife becomes an account. Presence continues as long as payment does.

7. Qualified, Pending Capacity

A qualification arrives before the skill does. The credential authorizes readiness while competence waits for a later update.

8. The Passport of Tomorrow

Golden visas, liquid nations, and the comfort of being treated as if departure is always available.

9. The Beloved of Tomorrow

Parasocial warmth, scalable belonging, and the productized feeling that someone might know you.

10. Soul-as-a-Service

Digital legacy, grief technology, and the general customer impression of having been you.

11. The Exit of Tomorrow

Mobility as insurance, nationality as inconvenience, and exile polished until it resembles optionality.

12. The Connection in Beta

Loneliness enters the platform. A heart-shaped device waits for someone to keep typing.

13. Mortality Onboarding

The soul enters the platform of record. Biological absence becomes a terms-of-service problem.

14. Learning Occurred

Readiness is measured, outcomes are achieved, and evidence of progression becomes its own credential.

15. The Competence Is Currently in Beta

The credential confers eligibility to be assumed. Knowledge remains available elsewhere.

Studio Note: On Drafts, Early Access, and the Living Archive

Some posts at Kirenya arrive as drafts. Here is what that means.

We often share seeds: early thoughts, fragments, drafts, experiments, and alternate versions of work while they are still taking shape.

Some of these pieces may later become collections, books, Studio Editions, companion materials, or something else entirely. Others may remain as process artifacts: part of the living archive of how the work arrived, changed, sharpened, or moved on.

Part of the studio’s current practice is to share the formation of the work, especially with paid subscribers and Studio Circle members. That may include early drafts, competing titles, alternate endings, related versions, process notes, and pieces that later merge, return, transform, or settle into a different final container.

This means a post may be one version of a piece rather than its final form. A post may be an early arrival, a question in motion, or a variation held beside others while the work finds its clearer shape.

For readers, this creates two kinds of access:

The draft archive offers a view into the work while it is still becoming. The later collection — when one arrives — offers the selected, revised, and arranged form.

Drafts also create room for response. Readers are welcome to share what is landing, what feels alive, what raises questions, what may want sharpening before publication.

We often tag these posts as Process & Drafts.

Step 6: Commit to becoming someone you think is getting the steps better than you.
Step 7: Realize you’ve become a hollow replica of a person who was probably faking it too.
Step 8: Repeat Step 1.
Step 9: Wonder why you feel empty despite following all the steps perfectly.
Step 10: Repeat Step 1.
Step 11: Whisper the truth to yourself. Pretend you didn’t hear it.
Step 12: Repeat Step 1. Or retire.

Weather Before Shelf

Before the shelf,
there was weather.
